Where Tasmania is situated

Tasmania is an island state, south of Australia, separated by Bass Strait. Travel is by the ships - Spirit 1, & 2 from Melbourne, 3 from Sydney - all going to Devonport. Direct flights are from Melbourne and Sydney daily to Hobart.

You will find on this page some of the attractions around the Huon area.

  The locality of Judbury

Judbury is aprroximately 50 kilometers South of Hobart in the
Huon Valley and 13 kilometers
west of Huonville, along the Huon River, (about half way between Hobart and Southport)

It is a farming and orcharding area.

Tourist Attractions.

We have a number of tourist places not far from our home.

  • The Snowy Range Trout Fishery
  • The Tahune Airwalk
  • Timber Museum at Geeveston. Around the town are carved sculptures of famous people from the area
  • The best BYO Restaurant in Australia for 2005 is at Geeveston.
  • Cruises on the Huon River.
  • A German Model railway and a Tudor Village at The Grove
  • The Apple people are made in Glen Huon and there is a model village also at the same home.

Tahune Airwalk

The Airwalk is a lovely days outing where you
can be as tall as the trees. It is about an hour's
beautiful drive from our place.

Snowy Range Trout Fishery

You are sure of catching a fish, either trout or salmon at the Snowy Range Trout Fishery. This is where we go when we want fish for dinner. We find it relaxing and fun and a beautiful spot to be.  It also has ponds for children to fish in and picnic area.
